Danny

Danny is gone for two weeks at a time when he goes out in the field, about an hour from here. He is learning to become an instructor - and he's going to be great!
He's just as cute as always and the best dad ever.

I walked in yesterday and there was flour and sugar out, and I didn't put it there! Apparently he got a hankering for oatmeal cookies and made some! I know, it's 2008 and a man can make cookies - but it's still pretty sweet.

I'm just so happy we moved, if we were in Colorado he would be gone to Iraq for his 5th tour. He would have missed out on SO much of Donovan growing up. We are very blessed.

My luck...

Cracks me up!
Ironically the saying, "just my luck", is one of my biggest pet peeves. I mean seriously - how many of us really have bad luck! But here I am.

Donovan is teething, 4 molars all at once. He likes to chew on cold wash clothes....and oh yea, one got left on our brand new leather couch and left a big white spot on dark brown. To top it off, the same day I ruined our dishwasher, 2 of Donovan's sippy cup tops burnt to the bottom heater thingy majiggy. It was the most horrific smell! I hated the dishwasher anyways, it's been forever since I've hand washed this many dishes. Lastly, our new driveway has a hill and is in a half moon shape. I'm backing up like I do everyday and apparently miss the turn and bury myself in our mulch, so bad I couldn't even rock myself back and forth to get out. I had to get out, remove the mulch from around my tire and pray my neighbor didn't walk out! Seriously...

All in a days work....

Ahhhh, the beach.

We just spent a lovely 7 days on the beach with my awesome family - in Corolla NC. Amazing. Not only is it fab to just be able to soak up the sun & swim in the ocean - but it's really nice to have so many extra hands who are willing and able to take Donovan. It's nice to have some "selfish" time now and than and do whatever to heck you want to. ;)

It was Donovan's first time seeing the ocean, and too long since Danny and I have been. Van was not scared of the water in the least, he crawled full force right towards it. He also loved the sand, loved all the people around, just loved it all up.

I boogie boarded for the first time and it was a blast. I caught some wicked waves.

I can't wait for our next vacation - somewhere between Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology II. :)

Our Donovan

Donovan is everything we dreamed of and more. It took us a while to get pregnant, and I'm so thankful it did because now we have Donovan. If I were to describe him in 5 words - laid back, silly, happy, serious & a touch mischievous.

He has flown over 8 times and he's not even 1. Every time we get on a plane you see the looks, please don't sit by us. And every time we are getting off the plane (literally), people around us say how great he was. That's his laid back side (thank goodness).

Bath time is one of his all time fav things. When I fill the bath he stands there watching the water pouring in doing this special bath time screech. It's hilarious. That's his silly side.

If he's just crawling around the house and catches me looking at him, he gets a smile from ear to ear. He starts crawling like a speed demon over to me laughing and smiling the whole way, melts my heart. His happy side.

We went to a Christmas party, every one wanted to hold Donovan. So he was passed to person after person, just staring at them and not making any sort of expression. That's his serious side, like his daddy he needs to warm up to you before he will show off his beautiful smile.

And the look in his eyes, it's hard to explian - but when you see it you know you're in trouble. If he wants something he is going to figure out how to get it. Period. That's his mischieveous side. I'll look through my picture's for this precious face. :)

Our hearts are full with our little man in our life, and we just know it's going to get better and better.

Back to school momma...

1st Test
The hard part is over, it's done with - only after like 20 hours of studying. I get a little banana's with the studying thing, you just never know what the professor is going to ask! I think it went well, I felt confident in most my answers except 1 I know for sure was WRONG. Oh well....it was only worth 3 points after all. :)

I'm working Backwards:
I've been in class a couple weeks now, starting to get the swing of things. I must say I've been exhausted, haven't used my brain this much in years! :) My first test is Friday, September 12th - think good thoughts for me!

DAY 1 - Lecture

As I was sitting in Chemistry class (yes Chemistry) I started to sweat; not enough that anyone else would notice, but still. It's been over 8 years since I have sat in a college class and I'm SO excited, but scared to death. I was thinking I could get my feet wet by taking Intro to Algrebra, but my wonderful adviser had another idea - and I'm so glad she did (that's what I say now any ways).

Day 2 - Lab
OK, so today I started my Chemistry Lab, OMG! This was one of the first questions asked, keep in mind it's been forever since I have been in any sort of class.
Express the following in powers of ten:

0.0040000 x 32000 x 0.6000
______________________

6400 x 3000 x 0.0800

Now I realize there are some reading this thinking what is her problem, this is simple....
But my first thought, I might as well walk out the door right now and not waste any ones time. But all of the sudden it came to me - literally like a light turned on. So there may be hope after all, we will see!!
{By the way, the answer is - 5.00 x 10 -5 - but you already knew that!}

Hello World...

Our very own blog, something to check off my to-do list, my ever growing to-do list of all the important things I really want to do. I just needed to make the time! One of my biggest pet peeves is saying there's not enough time, if it's important enough you will make the time.

My family is SO important to me that I want the world to know what we've been up to, or at least those who want to read about what's new...
So here we go, OUR VERY OWN BLOG!
